Engagement Sexism?

So we've been engaged now for just over 3 weeks and its been lovely, lots of cards, gifts and happy messages from Friends, Family and Work Colleagues.

I get the pleasure of working with Danny my H2B, and something I noticed was a little sexism between the celebratory comments,

We or I received lots of congratulations... he on the other hand received well done, or comments relating to earning potential.

So size of the ring doesn't just matter to girls, it matters to men in the most primal way.  He how can afford the biggest, obviously is the best!  Before now I always felt pressure that it was just a girl wanting a big sparkly diamond.

GET THE LOOK: Birthday Themed Wedding

So I realised yesterday there is a month until my birthday, which got my thinking.. a lot of guys propose on birthdays (is this an easy option?), so could you get married on your birthday or have a birthday themed wedding, after all a birthday doesn't have a theme other than to celebrate!

GET THE LOOK: Out of Space Themed Wedding

Love can sometimes be described as 'out of this world' and to celebrate that endless love how about a fantastic, atmospheric themed wedding.  Dark colours, stars, moon, planets... even aliens!  Rockets... the rocket man ; ) Done in the right way this just say a romantic, sparkly blissful evening to me.

Wedding Anniversary!

We all love to remember the found memories of special occasions, birthdays, anniversary - all sort and especially Wedding Anniversary's... we should celebrate the time you have dedicate to each other!

According to Wiki, my source of all knowledge:

In the Commonwealth realms, one can receive a message from the monarch for 60th, 65th, and 70th wedding anniversaries, and any wedding anniversary after that.[1] This is done by applying to Buckingham Palace in the United Kingdom, or to the Governor-General's office in the other Commonwealth realms.[2]
In Canada, one can also receive a message from the Governor General for the 50th anniversary, and every 5th anniversary after that.[3]
The situation is similar in Australia, where one can receive a letter of congratulations from the Governor-General on the 50th and all subsequent wedding anniversaries; the Prime Minister, the federal Opposition leader, local members of parliament (both state and federal), and state Governors may also send salutations for the same anniversaries.[4]
In the United States, one can receive a greeting from the President for any wedding anniversary on or after the 50th.[5]
Roman Catholics may apply for a Papal blessing through their local diocese for wedding anniversaries of a special nature (25th, 50th, 60th, etc.).[6]

Traditional and modern anniversary gifts
Lists of wedding anniversary gifts vary by country. The traditional and modern U.S. versions were compiled by librarians at the Chicago Public Library.[7][8][9][10]
