Retro Wedding - sweets & cakes

Everyone has a sweet tooth and we all love retro sweets from our childhood!!  For our wedding I wasn't to keen on having a wedding cake, because I thought it would go to waste and wouldn't be to every one's liking.... so after seeing a wedding in You & Your Wedding I decided to go with several home made cakes of all different types, this added a personal touch and saved a few bob!

You can also theme your sweets and cake to match the day - as we are going for a vintage, retro theme - thinking jubilee street party home made cakes work wonders : )

We also have a giant fireplace in one of the rooms at our venue, so we are going to have jars of marshmallows which people can roast on the fire!!

GET THE LOOK - Retro Hollywood Wedding

Think Hollywood starlet, 30/40's pin up, movie theatre, deep colours - the only reason I see this as being a problematic theme (specifically in retro arena) is that you must spend a little money on these decorations, otherwise the whole thing comes of looking cheap... and the idea of Hollywood glamour is to ooze money, class, style and sophistication - well in my book at least ; )
