London Riots 2011
I know it's not wedding related but as I live in Bow, close to the riots (in Hackney) and work in central London the 2011 August riots have affected me and will be remember by future generations. So it is only right that we document these moments and learn from them...
Really this behaviour is only being created by small groups of people and yes they started off with a meaning, but now it is just yobs taking advantage of the broken state of our government and police force!!
The Coalition need to a get a grip, use what force of law the Great British people do have left to bring back common sense to the people, even if that means bring out the Army.
Also the people on the street should take a good look at themselves, if you are out there looting, smashing and starting fires why? What respect do you deserve? Who are you? How did you grow up to think this behaviour is acceptable? What is next if you can't follow the rules? What if it is not you on the street but someone else? And they are breaking into your shop/house, no one is there to help you...

Hackney - East London (where I live now)
Peckham - South East London (where I lived before)

Croyden - South London
Last night Monday 8th August, as my housemate and myself sat in our flat doing as we were told, not to go out into the streets, we watched as groups of youths walked hoods up to the riots and scrolled through pages of Facebook updates from friends and tweets on Twitter. One friend of my housemate was locked into a Tesco to stop people breaking into loot, a friend in Peckham watch as people smashed shops, looted good and shot fireworks at police! In the middle of the night when things seemed to have died off my ex MOH text to say her part of town was now on fire and another friend had been evacuated!

The Wedding that never was...
Today is August 3rd, which means if H2B and me were still together there would only be a month to go until the big day... and I would be freaking out big time about what hasn't been done and what is still to do.
Looking at the silver lining, I am very relaxed today and enjoying the lovely weather : ) Below are the plans, as far as we had got before we called it off...

So I am a little behind if I am honest in this whole planning 'the' wedding, I've got a little over excited by themes!
We'll we've decided to change our wedding due to a little falling out earlier in the year... and I am hoping we can still get married this year before our marriage licence runs out (Sep 3rd 2011). If not I guess it will be next year. Thankfully postponing has a silver lining, I can have the wedding the way I want it, not the way the families would like it!
It's going to be, most likely, just the two of us eloping to some remote, romantic get away... UK based! Or a small, immediate family only (and I mean parents, siblings and their partners) get together - low key, cheap but with style.
We had booked Penhros Court as our wedding venue, in Herefordshire, confirmed the photographer Katch22, and I had found the dress I wanted a high street bargin :)
